Frequently asked questions

We get a lot of questions from customers, and that is fantastic!  Here is a list of answers to common questions you may have!


Do I have to pay a deductible, and who do I pay it to?


If you were not at fault and the other party was insured, you will not have to pay a deductible.  If you are at fault, you will owe the deductible at the time your repairs have been completed.  


The insurance company will pay the balance of the repairs less the deductible, so you will have to pay the deductible directly to the shop.


What forms of payment do you accept?


Port City Body Shop accepts Visa, MasterCard, and Discover Cards, insurance checks, cashier's checks, and cash.  We do not accept personal checks without prior approval.


Do you offer a warranty?


Yes, we offer a limited LIFETIME  warranty on the work that we do, for as long as you own the vehicle.

How long will the repairs take?


When you bring your car in, we give you an estimated time frame on all repairs.  However, there are usually variables to consider, and we will keep you updated on any delays and difficulties.


Can you match my paint color?


We take pride in our ability to match the finish of your vehicle - with our state-of-the-art equipment. Color matching has never been easier!


What is PDR?


PDR is paintless dent repair.  This process allows us to remove minor dents and dings without the need to repaint your vehicle.  This may not be the best option for some damages, but for minor repairs is very cost efficient and quick.


Do I have to take my car to a shop that my insurance company recommends?


Not at all!  Some insurers only recommend certain shops that give the insurance companies discounts for the referral.  Port City Body Shop may not be on your insurance company's list of direct repair facilities, but we will always provide the highest quality repairs for the best prices.


Insurance companies are not allowed to discriminate you for what shop you take your car to, so don't let them bully you into a shop just to save them money.


Do I have to get three estimates?


No, there is no law in Oklahoma that requires you to get an estimate at all.  We offer free estimates, or if your insurance company sends an adjuster, bring that estimate to us, and we will handle your claim from there!


Where do I get a claim number?


The insurance company paying for the damages will give you a claim number when the accident is reported.  Bring the claim number in, or call it in if your car is being towed - we will take it from there!


Am I entitled to a rental car, and how do I get one?


If the accident is not your fault, you are generally entitled to a rental car if the other driver has insurance.  If the accident is your fault, you are only entitled to a rental car if you purchased rental coverage with your policy.


Can I get other work done on my vehicle while it's at your shop?


Yes!  We offer many custom services, including pinstripes, running boards, and bed covers - if you can dream it, we can do it!
